Sending Money To The Philippines from USA

by Claud Moore, Jr.
(Houston, Texas)

I tried sending money to the Philippines using several services. I used Western Union before but it is expensive especially online. Xoom Global Money Transfer is good and reliable but there was a problem with my card so I stopped using it.

MoneyGram is fast but the dollar rate is below the market value. I guess all remittance services are just like that.

I tried sending money through banks but it takes about 48 hours to receive it at BDO (Banco De Oro). Also, Uniteller is like MoneyGram but you have to seek outlet or shop available in your place.

So since MoneyGram is the most accessible in my place I stuck to it. Money can be picked up at SM, banks and remittance outlets in the Philippines in just minutes.
